Your Wedding Day Timeline: What Our Photography Team Needs To Know

A lot of engaged couples and their families have questions regarding the wedding day timeline. To help set expectations, here are some things to expect in regards to how the Adrian Tamblin Photography team will shoot your wedding. First, we need to be certain to get all the groupings you’d like in the time frames you have allotted. Adrian Tamblin Photography does not do many overly posed photographs on your wedding day. However, we feel that it is important to have some casually posed images of yourself and Edward with close family and friends. In order to make this process less time-consuming and confusing for everyone involved, it would be wonderful if you could help in the selection of your formal groupings.

The standard formal photographs taken are as follows.
Please check off the ones you would like taken on your wedding day:

  • Bride Alone
  • Groom Alone
  • Bride and Groom together
  • Bride and her mother
  • Bride and her father
  • Bride with her mother and father
  • Bride and Groom with bride’s parents and siblings
  • Groom and mother
  • Groom and father
  • Groom with mother and father
  • Groom and bride with groom’s parents and siblings
  • Bride with attendants
  • Groom with attendants
  • Bride and groom with all attendants

If there are other photographs that your wish taken at this time please add the details to your groupings list. Please also list the names of the individuals involved. There are more things to be aware of on your wedding day in regards to photography and the bigger picture, including: Time restraints– NOTE: It is very important that you consider time restraints when making your list of formal photographs. Please figure on average four minutes per image. It is absolutely vital that everyone who needs to be present for these photographs be there when we are ready to begin the session. In order to not waste time looking for missing individuals please make sure to communicate this schedule to those you wish to participate in this session. Photographing candid moments– Please DO NOT provide a list of images or groupings to capture during the reception as this will restrict our ability to document naturally occurring, candid moments. If there are any additional groupings that you would like, (college friends, cousins, etc) please designate a member of your party or family to get those groupings together.

Photos before the ceremony–
Here are some questions we need answered:

  • Do you plan on seeing each other before the ceremony? ie first look
  • If so, at what time?
  • Do you have a preferred location?
  • Please provide the location information.

Formal photos after the ceremony–

  • Will your family formals be before or after the ceremony?
  • If before, please indicate time and location.

Generally, we suggest we shoot the formal photographs beforehand in order to ease the schedule and allow you time to mingle with your family/friends after the ceremony.

Special location photos–

  • Where would you like the pictures of you two together to be taken? (regardless of whether they are before or after the ceremony)
  • Any special spot on the property? We will help find a location if you’re not sure where the good spots are.

Other Info–

  • Name of Officiant – Denomination if any?
  • DJ – Name – Company name
  • Florist – Name – Company name
  • Site Coordinator – Name – Is check in required?
  • Any special place to park vehicles?
  • Any site restrictions?
