Sonoma County Cycling Photographer Adrian Tamblin captures the spirit of the Early Bird Womens Racing Team
Sonoma County Cycling Photographer Adrian Tamblin
captures the spirit of the women on Early Bird women’s Racing Team. Many team members made their way from various parts of the Bay Area and Grass Valley to partake in a team training camp, BBQ and in an action photo shoot. Adrian Tamblin Photography captured the day from the back of a moving vehicle while the gals cranked their pedals attempting to keep pace and draft behind the sag driver – Frank Peavey. A few riders, namely Laurel Green took some digs and put the pain on the rest of the group, sprinting just because she CAN. I might add she is in excellent shape for it being so late in the racing season. The pictures don’t lie! See her in action for yourself, she shows up to all the local Sonoma County races in support of other riders on her team and or to participate.
Many professional and amateur teams alike choose to train and race in the picturesque and challenging terrain which many of us get to call home – Sonoma County. The team’s route for the day included climbs up Sweet Water and the beautiful descent on the backside of Armstrong Woods. The gals continued along River Road following the iconic Russian River and then regrouped at the historic Wohler Bridge. Once everyone was able to regroup the team shoved off towards the cold drinks and food at Laurel’s home in Windsor. It was there that the team recounted the highlights of the day and kicked up their feet to finish off an epic weekend of riding. The pictures prove it!
