Beating “Senioritis” & Planning Your Senior Portraits
So you’re going full-speed-ahead toward high school graduation and you’ve got a few things on your plate now—Finals, how to push through your “Senioritis” and pass them with flying colors, prom, not to mention college applications and such. And then, at the very end of it all, are your senior portraits. Anyone who’s anyone knows that having professional portraits done is worlds better than the setup they may or may not be having in the school’s gym.
That’s where I come in. I’ll tell you how we’re going to handle this.
We’ll sit down and talk about what you may have in mind for the shoot. Do you play an instrument? Guitar or clarinet, maybe? What about a sport? Are you your school’s QB or Point Guard? Bring your ball—we’ll be sure to incorporate it into your very personalized photos. How about favorite colors? Want to wear your favorite, beat-up old blue jeans, or that Ramones tee that you’ve washed one hundred and one times? Excellent.
Our goal—yours and mine—is to ensure that these photos are uniquely you. They need to represent who you are not only as a high school senior, but also as a soon-to-be college freshman and maybe even beyond that.
And once we have those logistics worked out, we’ll start planning how we’ll get all those things worked into your setting and locale.
The thing about being a Sonoma County/Napa Valley native is that we get to take advantage to the gift of what is one of the most perfect photo-friendly backdrops ever.
Together, we’ll figure out poses, looks, what kind of natural lighting we want to take advantage of, and whether you want your senior portraits shot with some rustic appeal or a little edge.
After that, it’s all up to me. I’ll be sure that your photos are shot well, developed expertly, edited, and reflect the look you were aiming for.
