On Friday October 4th, supporters attended the 10th annual Catwalk for a Cure at the Wells Fargo Center of the Arts in Santa Rosa. What is Catwalk for Cure you ask? It is a sold out fashion show and Luncheon which helps to raise funds towards finding a cure and helping woman pay for the necessary tests which detect breast cancer. All monies raised from this event go to the Sutter North Bay Women’s Health Center, who’s main goal is to help those without funds get the treatment and tests necessary to battle breast cancer. The event which sells out each year was packed with supporters, family members who have lost loves ones, and current survivors. A live auction DJ’d by Brent Farris included a $5,000 dollar diamond necklace, trip to Hawaii with $1,000 spending cash, 20 dinners out and around Sonoma County, and a case of Sonoma/Napa wine. Each auctioned item fetched a hefty amount and got the crowd out of their seats bidding and supporting a great cause. The fashion show included many local Sonoma County groups including Sutter Nurses. When they took the stage they received a standing ovation and there were many tearful eyes from those who had a personal connections. Let’s hear it for the Nurses! The fashion show also included some of Santa Rosa Fire Department’s “finest”. The gals in the crowd went into a frenzy and the tent turned into a 3 alarm blaze of laughs and shouts. Lets not forget about the Red Peloton Cycling club who came out on bikes and spandex and the local 20 – 30 club who is always showing support in and around the community. As the event continued other groups such as Military Mom’s, Hispanic Leaders and Cancer survivors themselves took the stage.
Adrian Tamblin Photography was able to capture the event up close and below are some of the highlights. Enjoy!
